They may be famous throughout the world but the mountains of Ireland, whilst many, are of relatively low when levels compared to other ranges in the British Isles and Europe. As such they will not attract the serious climber who seeks out more demanding challenges in Austria, Switzerland, France, and Spain to name but a few other European countries. However, because of their lack of height, most ranges are eminently suitable for hiking for people of all ages and have some outstandingly superb trails which visitors can explore.
